ShowMacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Try to install OS X 10.8.2 & 10.6.8 Posted on Jan 19, 2013 10:12 PM. Reply I have this question too I have this question too Me too Me too. I have the free version of Avast! Downloaded on my MacBook and I ran a full system scan twice and each time it found 2 infections, 'infected' java files. OS X doesn't really need any antivirus, but you are running a very old version in 10.6. Activate avast password extension. I'd just update to 10.11 'El Capitan' if I could and if not just download Avast for Mac. – RedEagle2000 Feb 2 '16 at 1:25.
